    HOW WE BEGAN
Talerang was initially developed as a project at Harvard Business School and launched in October 2013. Our research showed that corporate India was unhappy with entry-level talent, making hiring one of the most difficult aspects of running any organization no matter the industry or scale. To further confirm this, students at top undergraduate institutions (>60% of students) attested to feeling completely unprepared and anxious for their first jobs despite being academically sound.
    WHAT WE DO
Talerang trains students (selected from the best colleges across Mumbai and Delhi such as IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, St. Stephen's College, LSR College, SRCC and St. Xavier's College) in what we call work- readiness skills, essentially the skills that corporates look for but colleges do not teach. The experiential curriculum uses HBS cases and includes leadership, communication, time management, etiquette, excel and PowerPoint, problem solving and creative thinking. Post class-room training for 6 weeks (alongside college), students transition to Talerang partner organizations for paid summer internships at which time they have the practical exposure that completes their training and makes them work-ready. In the first year, Talerang has trained over 2000 people to be work-ready. We also have placed close to 50 students with our corporate partners where they have completed defined projects and been called back for full-time hiring opportunities.
