Uhuru Summer Job (Part-time/Full Time)

Uhuru (means 'freedom') is a two-person founding team with diverse experience in finance, venture capital and computer programming (Singapore and US).

Company Brief :
We've built a mobile only network for college students only. The inspiration behind our plan was simple - that Indian college students generally do not end up interacting with each other, which is especially for true for interaction between the sexes (its college after all!). This is why most get so giddy before college festivals, right (so we can check out others)? This was true when we were in college, but you guys now have smartphones! While we are working on several diverse feature enhancements (gaming. forums for e.g.), our app is first and foremost a portal to check out other girls/boys in nearby colleges. You'll be able to choose which nearby colleges you wanna peek into, (think Xaviers, HR, Jai HInd, Sophia etc) match with new faces, chat (or flirt!) safely and come hang with the rest of the college community at our own hosted parties.

 Looking For:
Articulate and social people with hopefully a few friends as proof. And you need to be in Mumbai. That's really it! You will be hired as a representative for your College, and if we love you, you will become the city rep for Mumbai.

Time: Minimum period of hire is ~3 months starting Feb/March. Remuneration incentives will be there.

Job Profile:
Successful technology companies (from Apple to Airbnb to Flipkart to Snapchat) require entrepreneurial marketing and sales teams, as much as they need their engineers. This will be a hands-on experience in launching a social network from scratch, and the head-banging which goes on behind the scenes in how to make it successful.  For those who have no clue about app design/programming, getting into the customer acquisition and marketing side of things is your best shot to break into the fast growing mobile app space. You will help us test the app amongst your friends and others in college (that's where most social networks start), give us feedback on how we can improve it, be a part of our team meetings giving practical advice on user issues, design and engineering and then see the app iteration process first hand - finally helping us launch over the summer. You are the critical link between us and our users.

Interested candidates can send their CV's to bhandari.raghav@gmail.com latest by 10th February 2015. Please mention Jai Hind College in the subject.
